Tranqueras del Monte

“Pésima calefacción y aislación térmica”

The cabin was a disappointment – the heating barely worked and the thin walls let the cold in. Several windows lacked curtains, and the ones that had them didn’t even cover the whole pane, so the place stayed chilly all night. The slow‑burn stove barely warmed the room and the wood burned out quickly, even with the draft low. On top of that the lighting was dim and uninviting, and for the price I’d steer clear.

“Gostei muito da hospedagem. Voltarei, com certeza”

The room was pleasant overall, especially the bed which was super comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight – the food and drinks were top‑quality. The staff were attentive and friendly, making the stay smooth. Honestly, I have nothing to complain about.

“A wonderful host made our stay in beautiful, rugged Chaiten really positive. Our kids loved it”

The host and the team were genuinely welcoming and the breakfast they served was excellent. Chaitén’s rugged vibe shines through, and the owner, a local who knows the area well, adds a thoughtful touch. Some of the cabins are showing their age and could use a few updates, but everything is kept tidy and well‑maintained. Overall a solid experience.

I asked for a receipt several times – first on WhatsApp, then through the booking platform – but never got it. After a month they blamed a technical glitch and kept insisting I pay either cash or by transfer. The lack of proper documentation was frustrating.

The morning meal was decent, but the rest of the stay was far from pleasant. The house reeked of mold, was damp, and there was no hot water at all, making it more comfortable to sleep in the car. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
