The staff were amazing; on our honeymoon they sent us a cute fold‑out card and some foot patches, and the hospitality was evident from every employee. They helped us ship luggage and recover forgotten items before departure. The facilities were beautiful and fully used; upon arrival we were offered two teas and amber candies. The amenities and proximity to Kyoto station made it worthwhile. The Moya room, one of the largest, impressed us with its bath, shower, and double vanities, and it captured the wood and stone aesthetic the original carpenters wanted. It’s a stunning, premium property, and I’d love to return to Kyoto there again. The only thing I’d have preferred was a double onsen room, but the Moya room more than compensated.

A beautiful house, an incredible experience with an excellent bed, a stunning shower, and of course a stone bathtub that offers visual delight and harmony in every detail. I felt a bit confined by the lack of windows, giving the impression of being in a closed space, which seems to be a feature of this first‑floor house, but a sliver of sky in the bath area helped.
