Large rooms! The furnishings were very old! There was no fridge in the room, only a communal fridge for all guests! The mattresses were very soft! From 5 a.m. there was a lot of traffic noise.

The countryside monastery setting is unique, surrounded by old walls and trees, and the hotel offers its own parking lot. The only annoyance was the many cars driving on the nearby street that passes close to the hotel. Breakfast was good, and a friendly staff member let me order coffee and eggs. A lift would eliminate the need to haul luggage up the long stairs.

The staff were highly motivated and friendly, and the village offers great options for excursions. Free parking is available around the hotel or nearby, and there are charging spots for electric cars in the area—no fast chargers, but they’re inexpensive. A beer garden is on site, and otherwise nothing is missing. Unfortunately, my wife and I are a bit older and have trouble with noise. At 5 am the early morning is greeted by the bell ringing of the nearby monastery church, which is great for nostalgia fans; 7 am would have been sufficient in our opinion. The nearby street with rush‑hour traffic in the morning and evening also disturbs, and it can’t be avoided. In summer, the beer garden is great but still has its sound issues.

The setting, the charm of an old inn, the beer garden, and very friendly staff were positives, but the breakfast could have been heartier; a good electric coffee machine and eggs with bacon would have been great.
