The hotel is in the middle of town and has a lot of charm; the beds were top quality, the staff very friendly, and the breakfast good. Because the hotel sits on two narrow streets, there are no car parking spaces right at the hotel, but free parking is available at the town entrance about 250 m away.

The house was a lovely old Palatine building, cozy, and we liked the furnishings in the room and bathroom. The breakfast offered a standard selection with discount‑store cheese and poor coffee; it was basically fine but not worth the price. In our room there was a drain smell.

The hotel sits in the centre of town, which is great; the free parking is about 100 m away, which was no problem. Our room was on the top floor, there was no elevator but we knew that beforehand. Help with luggage is offered if needed. The room was nice and well‑equipped. Unfortunately, as is common in hotels, the TV is too small and too far away to watch comfortably. A stool in the bathroom would be nice, especially since there is enough space. The breakfast buffet area feels a bit cold; nice pictures of the Rhodt or a welcoming wall sign would make a difference. The front garden, where you can sit nicely, has plastic flowers on the table, but that’s a matter of taste. Otherwise it’s very nice. If the rear garden were revitalised, that would be great; it looks quite neglected. You can also eat and drink during the day even though the earlier restaurant is closed. That’s nice. There is a small daily menu. The gentleman who manages everything is very attentive. With a few small touches more cosy atmosphere could be created, but otherwise everything is top.

The sofa was not clean. The hosts only pointed out that it had been cleaned before and that they, as tenants of the owner, were dependent on the owner for such matters. It was unheated, and after we turned up the heating in the evening it was fully turned off again the next day after our hike. Conversations with the host were as unproductive as unnecessary.
