Werrapark Aktiv Hotel Am Sommerberg

I cannot leave a review because I was unable to check into the hotel. Multiple calls were unsuccessful, and even after notifying that I would arrive later, there was no response. After asking the tourism office, I received a phone number from a Mr. Koc ??, but no call could be made. On Monday, I called them and was told the matter was being processed. I am still waiting for a reply. On Sunday I visited the site again, took some photos of the premises below, and it is not very inviting. The last photo shows the door to the transition, but as you can see, it can only be opened with a special key?????? That was my experience with the Werrapark Resort at Sommerberg.

“Hotel ist geschlossen”

The hotel was closed. When I arrived by bike in the evening, the doors were open but initially no one was there. A notice on the reception desk said that all bookings at Werra Park Hotel in Heubach should contact us. I rode another 5 km uphill by bike. Eventually I reached another hotel and someone there announced that I was coming. There, I found a folder with my name and the key. The hotel and the room were fine, breakfast was okay, but nobody was there to answer my questions.

The view at sunset was gorgeous, but the window in my room was broken.

The staff were friendly and handled check‑in and check‑out quickly and without hassle, yet from the outside the building looked unkempt and in need of renovation.
