We’ve been coming to the Gorham Motor Inn for years and it’s always in a spot that works for us. When the first room we got wasn’t up to scratch, the staff kindly swapped it for another one—no hassle. Still, this year the place felt a touch less tidy than usual, and there were no Kleenex in the room. They also didn’t provide breakfast or brewed coffee in the lobby, and I’m not a fan of the generic motel coffee maker because you never know what the last guest might have used it for—yuck.

The room had a strong odor, and two friends got sick there; the next day my grandson also fell ill from mold in the room.

The motel was absolutely filthy, with black mold in the bathroom and a shower drain that didn’t work; we were so disgusted that we slept with blankets on top of the comforter.
