The setting was quiet and secluded, with sports facilities in the courtyard. It’s a short walk from the castle and shops in Stráž nad Nežárkou, and you can also swim at the nearby sandstone quarry where the birches were plentiful, or splash directly by the mill. There’s a large bike storage and the mill manager’s flexibility was amazing. I was satisfied overall, but the snack bar at the mill only opened for a short time in the evening, and people didn’t know about it and arrived early. I would have liked more cookies, salad, or a sausage in a roll.

The pillows were completely crazy—piled up and just hard balls in them. Even though we had an apartment, the kitchenette was tiny and had no storage at all.

A beautiful place that matches its price, with very helpful staff who accommodated every request. It’s suitable for staying with a dog, who enjoyed the surroundings and the pond, and I will definitely return for a longer stay.
