The site features a fortified castle, beautifully restored, surrounded by a forest of art installations. The receptionist was very courteous and parking is close to the rooms. The rooms are spacious with a fully equipped kitchenette, and there is a washer and dryer in the building. The location is good for exploring the area. However, it’s more of a holiday village than a 4‑star hotel; the various hotel services are spread over a large area, requiring a map to navigate. The rooms are very dark, with complete blackout at night (even though it’s not a 4‑star property). We had to use a flashlight to get from the parking to the room. The sense of privacy is lacking—no blinds or sealed windows, and the narrow curtains don’t cover the sheer windows. The bathroom also has a sheer window, no shower, no curtain, and it floods with water. The front desk is far away, and there’s no phone in the room for questions. Daily housekeeping and towel changes are absent. Breakfast is pricey and bland. The spa is disappointing. Despite enjoying the stay, the high price didn’t match the value.

The room was very nice with a great view of the Loire, the pool and spa were lovely, the park was spacious, and the breakfast was very good (though it cost extra). All in all, a very pleasant stay. However, because the park is so large, the walk to the pool house and spa is long, and the hotel’s bistro only serves alcohol with food, which is a shame because enjoying a good regional wine with the view isn’t always paired with a meal.

The spot was gorgeous, with easy access to the spa, pool, and immaculate grounds, and the art trail lit up at night made for a pleasant stroll with our dog. Inside, the décor was lovely, the rooms spotless and fully stocked with everything you could need. The welcome team were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The only downside was the absence of air conditioning—if that were present, I’d give it an 11. We’d have happily stayed over two weeks in such a peaceful setting, but the heat was too much.
