“Good location for that price”

The spot is great, but the interior feels like a classic horror film—exactly what we wanted, so that's fine. The bathroom definitely needs a facelift.

“Radzę się zastanowić”

The main plus was the location right by the beach, good Wi‑Fi, and a well‑equipped kitchen. The top floor is very low, so taller guests have to bend to move around; it was also very hot upstairs. Cleanliness was below expectations. Problems began before arrival: we sent a message via Booking asking about check‑in, got no reply, and had to call the owner; we couldn’t communicate in English and only after speaking Russian could we sort the details. The worst happened on the last day: around 8:00 a lock on the front door broke, and four people in the house couldn’t leave normally; a locksmith had to intervene and the door was finally opened around 13:00, leaving us unable to leave for about five hours. This seriously affected our holiday. We had planned to drive from Jurmala to Riga, tour the city, and then attend a speedway event for which we’d already bought tickets. After fixing the lock we still had to do necessary shopping, so we had to cancel the Riga sightseeing entirely and could only attend the event. I understand a lock failure can happen anywhere and wouldn’t alone warrant such a negative rating; the issue was mainly the owner’s reaction and very poor communication—both before arrival and during the serious malfunction.
