We booked a room for the night at the Holiday Inn Express Times Square and were assigned to the 22nd floor. Within an hour we hit a major elevator malfunction that left us stuck; we had to use the stairs. We were scheduled to leave at 3:00 AM for a taxi to the airport, so we asked when the elevator would be fixed, as we couldn’t carry heavy luggage down 22 flights of stairs at night. The manager said he didn’t know when it would be repaired, and that if we wanted to leave it was fine—he understood our situation—and promised that once we contacted him he would approve a cancellation without charge. To this day he has not given that approval, even though we have requested it. When we called the front desk to speak with the manager, the receptionist behaved abominably—slamming the phone down and giving no updates on the issue. This is highly inappropriate for a hotel that’s supposed to be good in Manhattan.

Staff cortese ed esaustivo. Posizione non proprio comoda, nella descrizione è indicata ‘times square’ come zona. È vero che la zona sia quella, ma abbastanza distante dalle maggiori attrazioni. Stanza piccolissima, al 28 esimo piano; 2 ascensori perennemente occupati che servono uno stabile enorme. Climatizzatore rumoroso e completamente pieno di polvere, bagno con tendina di plastica che manco più i b&b hanno. Colazione scarsa per il prezzo pagato. Un hotel da oltre 400 euro a notte che ne vale forse un terzo
