The hotel sits right next to Gotanda JR station, with the entrance directly connected to the JR station or Asakusa line, making it very convenient and giving access to most major tourist spots in Tokyo. We chose this place because a typhoon had hit Tokyo and we didn't need an umbrella even on rainy days when traveling between Gotanda and other shopping malls or attractions connected to other JR stations (e.g., Gotanda to/from Tokyo, Shinagawa, Takanawa station). There were plenty of entertainment and dining options for rainy days—restaurants, cafés, yakitori, yakiniku, bars, supermarkets, convenience stores, and eateries nearby. Reception is on the 3rd floor of Atre Gotanda 2, with Uniqlo on the 2nd floor and supermarkets on the ground floor in the same building. A walk‑over bridge (not covered) links to Tokyu Stay Gotanda, another shopping mall with many shops such as Muji, a supermarket, etc. The hotel facilities were well maintained and clean. The bed was comfortable with various pillow options; a chair massager was handy after a long day, and we liked the Dyson hairdryer and the proper Japanese bathroom with both shower and bathtub. Many amenities were available at the reception lobby. Our room didn’t face the train tracks, was very quiet with an open view, and was on a floor with a nearby laundry room. The room size was definitely enough for a couple with three large and one small luggage. It was our first time at this hotel and we’d likely return on our next trip to Tokyo. Nothing to complain about—it exceeded our expectations.
