I stayed in an eco‑tent with e/s for the first time – it was in a great spot, had basic facilities but a large camp kitchen. The staff were very helpful, and the café and store were handy. There was no shower curtain.

There’s nothing to dislike when visiting Carnarvon Gorge National Park. There are many hiking trails ranging from easy to challenging. The staff are friendly and there’s a nice café/restaurant. From pitching a tent, parking a caravan to hiring a cabin, they have it all.

The spot is spot on, right next to the gorge’s attractions and the caravan park itself feels nice. A few short walks around the park make a great way to finish the day, and there’s plenty of happy wildlife to see. The price, however, clearly reflects the location, not the quality of the accommodation. The Taka tent came with a pretty poor bar fridge, the world’s weakest pedestal fan, and some creepy crawlies that lived there. It wasn’t the cleanest or most comfortable place to stay on hot days, but it was survivable; still, at that price point I felt the sting.

The cabins are new, modern, and very well equipped, and the location is stunning.
