“注意されるホステル”
The rooftop had a hammock that I enjoyed, with a nice view and a laundry line; the covered roof meant no worries about rain. The British husband only let me drink water from a cup, not from a bottle. The air‑conditioned room cost 40 baht extra, and everything else—instant coffee, food, beer, and juice—was charged. A Thai woman, the owner, seemed to have all the authority; I thought it was free but ended up paying 15 baht for coffee and snacks. In the morning the wife was on the first floor, turned on a fan for me, and when I asked about coffee, she said “donation” and I declined. Instant coffee should be free. When I slipped down the stairs in my slippers, someone whispered “shh, be quiet”; very particular British.
