“本物の文化・伝統を体感すべきです!”
I was looking for a stay in a traditional Okinawan house, not a fake folk house, and this place caught my eye. It sits in the Imabari area of Imabari Village, a site chosen as a nationally important cultural landscape, surrounded by a row of ficus trees and a historic mansion forest. From somewhere I could hear the sound of a sanshin. I had a unique experience napping inside a large mosquito net while listening to rain, and when the rain stopped a big rainbow appeared in the garden. The room had a fridge, microwave, bath and shower, so it was comfortable. I enjoyed hearing the owner talk about his love for the folk house, and knowing I could consult him if something went wrong gave me peace of mind. My partner, who loves animals, was thrilled to see the goats. The beach is a short walk away. It was a precious and wonderful experience! I did get bitten by a mosquito, but that was expected.
