The place was more than just lovely; it felt magical. We came to see the Northern Lights and we did, plus we fell in love with the surroundings. The cabins had everything you’d need for a few days, especially for a couple, and they were spotless with excellent furniture. We took the distillery tour and it was a highlight—very interesting and the staff were extremely kind, even offering an English version because we were the only non‑Norwegian speakers. They also prepared gluten‑free food for me because of my coeliac disease, which I truly appreciated. The branding concept was fascinating, and I liked how it extended throughout the experience, like with Odin’s chair. The Wi‑Fi was frustrating: only one person per cabin could connect, even though the cabins hold four. Cleaning was generally good, but a few plastic bottles were under the cabins and some cheese lay under the oven—maybe a small brush would help. The key‑collection system could be smoother; the keys were hard to insert and remove, likely due to temperature changes, and the code dials didn’t always turn smoothly. The temperature detector/sensor was unreliable; every time we set the cooker to level 6 it got stuck and we had to reset the breakers. If you’re working with The Highland Soap Company, consider using the same Whisky & Honey range for all cabin products, not just the hand soap, to reinforce the scent and brand. The scent itself is amazing. When I first arrived, the weapon‑themed décor made me think it might be a shooting or paintball venue, but the staff later explained it was tied to the bunker history; the concept wasn’t immediately clear.

The place is close to the beach, but nobody helps with questions, no one tells you you can walk around the area, the hot water lasts only three minutes, rooms are very cold, and you have to cook for yourself all the time; we didn’t see any auroras from the window or outside. Nobody explains how things work, you’re left completely alone, unsafe, in the middle of nowhere.
