Hotel Rabin Itzam

The place is right in the center and close to all shops. The staff were friendly and offered me earplugs. On Mondays and Thursdays the market is open, bringing traffic to the market and hotel until 1 pm, but not all day.

“Mooie locatie en uitzicht, maar krakkemikkig.”

The view is fantastic. My room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains. The location is top, right in Lanquín with many tuk‑tuks and little spots to eat. The staff were very friendly. The fan was okay, but it doesn’t work as well as an air‑conditioner, of course. The room didn’t look clean. There were strange stains on the stone floor. The window couldn’t close, so insects (including a wasp) could come in, and during the storm rain came in, even though there was an outlet under the window. Under the doors there was a big gap, so insects could easily get in there too. There was a long power outage which didn’t make things better, but this is obviously not a criticism of the hotel itself.

The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are very pleasant. The bathroom is just right. The breakfast options in the mornings are very pleasant and tasty. It is well located.

The location! At midnight two people turned their music up to full volume as if it was their house :(

“Accueil, chaleureux et aide, bien situé”

The hotel sits nicely in the village, clean and pleasant, with a very friendly reception that gave a lot of attention and help.
