It was cheap, but the futon was too thin and the old lock made me feel unsafe.

We enjoyed a very pleasant family stay here; the peaceful location gave a nice Mount Fuji / Kawaguchiko holiday vibe, the simple, clean room with a traditional Japanese setup was suitable for our family and the kids liked it, the property felt homely and relaxed, the shared area was nice and calm, Wi‑Fi worked well, the room had air conditioning and a kettle, and the self‑check‑in was smooth and convenient—overall a clean, practical, good‑value stay with a local guesthouse feel rather than a commercial hotel. The only minor issue was that if you’re traveling with family and luggage, it’s easier to take a taxi from the station instead of walking; otherwise everything was fine.

The back‑of‑the‑house parking was easy to use and the hotel sits right on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, which is a fantastic spot; a fifteen‑minute walk brings you to restaurants and a convenience store, but the shampoo left something to be desired.

The hotel sits right on Lake Kawaguchi, within walking distance of a 7‑Eleven, bus stops, and a few izakayas; bicycles can be rented from a hotel down the road or electric bikes can be hired nearby. My room was large, the bed comfortable, and the air‑con excellent; the area was very quiet with few guests during my stay. All toiletries and towels were available in the communal area, and the men’s toilet and shower were very clean (my room shared a bathroom). For the price and lake proximity it was ideal and I’d recommend it for 2‑3 nights. The downside was that buses to the accommodation were infrequent, and getting there from Kawaguchiko station was a hassle on the green bus line; I had no formal check‑in process and was lucky someone was cleaning to let me in. The place looked a bit run‑down and random, though it was the cheapest in the area, so I couldn’t complain. The information booklet mentioned a café and bakery that I don’t think are still open, and more details on local bike hire and transport would have been helpful.

The suite was spacious and the check‑in and check‑out processes ran smoothly, yet the bathroom facilities were severely limited, with only one toilet for men and one for women.
