Cleanliness was good, and the old MOUGINS were nearby. However, the group applied preauthorisations of €269 and €1117.70 plus a debit of €1172.70, which is more than double the reservation amount. Our Booking reservation had a €300 security deposit requested at arrival, not the €269 + €1117.70. We do not understand their unacceptable practices. Preauthorisations lock the funds for the length of stay plus three days after, leaving the money unavailable and causing financial strain, which is intolerable.

We loved staying at the bastide in Mougins: it was calm, very pretty, well kept, the staff was fantastic, the breakfast was top quality and the dinner was excellent—an absolutely wonderful time. I liked everything.

The staff were helpful and available, but there was a lack of personnel and the walls were poorly soundproofed, so you could hear the slightest movements in other rooms, especially when housekeeping was working.

The location is central, the surroundings are nice. Unfortunately the breakfast service was disappointing: daily plates and bowls were missing from the buffet, the apple juice—already not freshly squeezed—was not refilled, and the service at the tables was subpar: guests had to stack dirty plates to make room at their table, which made the breakfast experience unpleasant. When I raised this at check‑out, the experience became even less pleasant. At departure, the two male receptionists did not even greet us, which felt unprofessional and unwelcoming and was a disappointing end to our stay.
