“Je ne recommande pas du tout ce riad”
The host greeted us warmly on the evening of our arrival and the housekeeper was very kind. I’m reposting because part of my comment was removed… We spent 11 nights in this riad (825 € for three people) and, regrettably, the stay was very disappointing. Arriving late, the host told us we’d been upgraded to a room with a bathtub, which sounded wonderful until we saw the tub couldn’t be used because the plug was missing—a complaint already noted in other reviews. That room had a tiny window facing a very busy street, so the noise from motorcycles and exhaust fumes was constant. The area, still scarred by the earthquake, was also a full‑blown construction site: work began around 7 am and continued until about 11 pm. I asked to change rooms because of the disturbance and was placed in a room opening onto the patio. Unfortunately, the interior shutter was broken and stayed closed for more than three days despite our repair request, leaving the room almost without light. The online photos don’t reflect the reality; a dome over the patio darkens the whole riad and blocks the sun from heating the pool, which remained freezing the entire stay. We also saw paper and tissues floating in the pool, several windows were broken and my son even got injured. The décor is now very dark, with walls almost entirely black, nothing like the pictures suggested. Breakfast was particularly limited: a very small fruit salad, industrial‑style juice despite fresh oranges being abundant in Morocco, and items served sparingly.
