The breakfast room and the friendly hostess were nice, but the furniture in the room felt very dark overall, and the bathroom could be more modern; the curtain in front of the shower is outdated, and the lack of an elevator made moving luggage a hassle.

The lovingly designed interior and decoration in this historic building surprised me, especially the many original photos and information about Friedrich Fröbel and his groundbreaking work with and for children. The location is ideal as a starting point for hikes in the Thuringian Forest and for walks into the center of Bad Liebenstein, and the host, who devotes herself with great heart to guests' wishes and questions, makes everything possible. The excellent, tasty breakfast provides a perfect start to the day. I will gladly return.

The hotel owner was a lovely person who went out of her way to fulfill our special requests. I appreciated the warm welcome, as our room was already heated when we arrived. The common area was a great place to relax, with toys, books, and a billiard table. The breakfast was also excellent.
