A few years back I’d already stayed at this guesthouse and was totally impressed, but this time I can’t say the same. The room was under the roof at 38 °C and I asked for a different one, yet I ended up in a “storage room.” A spider crawled over the bed, and the entrance was full of pests. I’ll never check in again, even though I was enthusiastic before. I left the next day. Breakfast was very sparse.

I didn’t like that after a 7‑hour drive I arrived at Gästehaus Heidi and the rooms I’d booked for 2 days via Booking were not available, and the receptionist (?) only said “I don’t know what to do” instead of arranging an alternative room.

The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre, which is convenient. The lady at breakfast was very friendly. The single room was very small and cramped (max 6 m²). Reception was only by phone, and questions during that call were not answered, such as where to leave a bicycle overnight. The room furnishings were quite eccentric. At breakfast almost everything was packaged (e.g. butter, jam, small sausage and cheese specialties), which isn’t very sustainable. Our breakfast table was in a dim section of the room.
