The Occidental Alicante is centrally located in Alicante, 10 minutes' walk from the beach and marina. The hotel offers air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TVs, a safe, minibar, and free WiFi. A tiny fridge and air‑conditioning were there. The stay was extremely disappointing for over €500 for four nights. The room was nothing like the listing: the advertised bathtub was missing. The room was unhygienic and poorly designed – the bathroom flooded with every shower, lifting the floorboards and creating dangerous puddles. We also saw rust in the shower and mold on the ceiling. The sound insulation was nonexistent – we heard all outside noise, and the upstairs neighbours moved furniture day and night. A stay to avoid.

The only thing was the location. The room was terribly sound‑proofed, the safe wouldn’t close, there was a horrible sewer smell throughout the room, and the view was of a shabby building.

Delicious breakfasts, extremely friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and a great location. Free coffee and other hot drinks are available at any time. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. Overall, a very successful stay; we’re happy with our choice.
