Glacier Hotel blew our expectations out of the water. Its central location made it easy to reach Valdez attractions, and the cozy hotel bar was perfect for unwinding after a busy day. We enjoyed chatting with the owner about Valdez history in the pub—an awesome, simple, honest stay.

Although the building is older, it’s been updated, the room is spacious and clean, and parking is easy and safe. A hot breakfast was included, and the fridge had a small freezer. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Maria the manager. I arrived around midnight because of unexpected delays; she returned to the hotel to let me in, arranged special parking for my walker, and assisted with my luggage that night and again when I checked out.
