The freedom to choose was a plus, but the mattresses were due for replacement.

The courtyard is lovely to sit in, and breakfast was very good, but I booked a room with a balcony (room 27) and it had no balcony access from the room; to reach the balcony one had to walk down the corridor and around the next corner, and the balcony door was broken and wouldn’t open, so the balcony was not even reachable via that uncomfortable route, and the room description for room 27 does not match the actual situation.

The location is nice, right in the center of Deventer, and the price/quality ratio is good.
