The location is lovely, the breakfast is plentiful and tasty, evening meals are plentiful with a good selection, and the staff and locals are friendly – a great crack, as us Scots say.

The room was nice and warm, with everything you’d expect. The bar area was pleasant, had a good selection of drinks, and plenty of seating. The restaurant area was also nice with a varied menu. The staff could use more training in general customer service. Breakfast was especially poorly managed: tables weren’t cleared, rubbish such as cereal packaging wasn’t taken away from shared areas, and two pizza boxes that we assume were left from the night before were still on the counter. The server hid in the kitchen, so people waited a long time to be served. We were never asked if the food was OK or if our stay was satisfactory when checking out.
