I went scuba diving. The diving centre is very good: good staff, good guides, good boatman. They know the area very well and seem to me very experienced, also in terms of safety. It is not so close to the most famous diving spots, it's about 20-30 minutes of travel by boat, but it has the great advantage to lay in the bay of Puerto Galera, where there are also nice dive sites that can be explored in case of big waves outside the bay (if the coast guard, which is next to the dive centre, allows to sail). Regarding the resort, it has private rooms and rooms with shared beds, since it works also as a hostel. All the rooms face a common terrace with a nice view on the bay and some shared facilities like tables, chairs and a little kitchen with a fridge. I found it very useful to have the dive centre just a few steps below the rooms so it was very easy to set up my stuff before diving and to clean everything after the dive. Puerto Galera is not as touristic as Sabang, but it seems to me with a more local vibes
The GPS coordinates aren’t precise, so finding the hotel in the dark was tricky because there are no road signs for drivers. There’s no on‑premises parking; you have to park on the busy street and then carry your bags and gear through an alley and up stone steps. The room is basic and the bathroom is tiny, with a shower‑toilet combo that can leave the floor wet—bring your own flip‑flops. The only bright spot is the staff, who are accommodating and genuinely pleasant. If you’re a diver, arrive early to catch the first boat out, and beginner divers can get instructors.
“Great place to stay and dive - awesome staff and guides that provide you with awesome experiences.”
The location was great, right next to town. The staff were amazing and made you feel at home from day one. They’re attentive and hospitable. The only improvement needed is the shower in the private room: the temperature swings from cold to boiling, and the pressure is very weak.
“Great experience”
The location is great, and the small village vibe around the area is charming. The equipment is excellent, and the diving quality is good, with plenty of marine life. The on‑site staff make everything easier. I highly recommend it if you want to dive in a simple, professional, and beautiful setting.
