“Really nice site, well situated for exploring York etc”

The lodge was nice and spacious. However, there weren’t enough cutlery items and some kitchen pieces were dirty when we arrived.

This lodge is stunning! The location is perfect, the property is clean, the bedrooms are spacious and the facilities are good. The hot tub is larger than we expected! The on‑site restaurant serves amazing food. Communication was great.

The JJ restaurant was fine. The lodge itself was in a poor state of repair and also needed a deep cleaning.

“Great lodge for families or friends trip but requires new mattresses!”

Great lodge! Parking is easy, the location is good, the interior is lovely decorated and very clean. The facilities are good, giving a very homely feel. The single beds in the second bedroom were very uncomfortable; every spring could be felt. It’s a shame because the room was great and very spacious.

The location is peaceful and JJ’s is good, the staff are very efficient and welcoming. The lodge park is well maintained. The lodge itself was disappointing compared to similar accommodation on the same site. It feels tired, with a strong smell in the entrance and in the living area. The decking needed cleaning, including the outdoor furniture. The hot tub was old and difficult to set up. The bathroom needs refurbishment and the en‑suite shower was poor. The bed, especially the mattress, needs replacement.
