“Interessant und nicht in allen Bereichen den Ansprüchen gerecht werdend. Hat den Charme von gestern in dem Zustand des f”
The architecture of this hotel is truly unique; the foyer is stunning and showcases an era that makes us marvel at the creativity and skill of the craftsmen and architects, while the dining room is also very impressive. Unfortunately, the brilliance and distinctiveness of the hotel did not translate into every aspect of our experience. Our room was located in a side wing on the second floor, was rather plain, and had only a few power outlets. When we arrived around 7 p.m., the room was not ready and we had to return to the lobby. The bathroom, evidently from the 1960s, was generally acceptable, but water splashed over the tub edge and the shower divider leaked onto the floor, creating a sizable puddle quickly. The shower hose, wrapped artistically around the faucet, looked unrefined and did not match the upscale feel of the property. The beds were also disappointing; the mattresses were so uncomfortable that the individual steel springs became noticeably annoying during the night and severely disrupted sleep. Carpets, curtains, and especially the windows clearly need urgent attention, with the windows in particular requiring replacement or refurbishment soon, as their condition does not honor the architectural ambition and unique atmosphere of the hotel. Breakfast also fell short of expectations, offering a conventional spread and jams that were overly sweet, masking the fruit flavor. We were especially irritated by the very different ideas of appropriate attire for breakfast.
