“We had a pleasant overnight stay.”
Our host was very welcoming and quickly gave us a different room when we found the one we had too hot during the heatwave.

The location in town was perfect, the upstairs room had a sea view, the common room downstairs had a garden and games, and the host was friendly and welcoming from the start. Thank you No24.

The host was fantastic; we were given a complimentary drink on arrival and felt very welcome. Nothing else.

The location was good, but I booked a deluxe room and received the attic room, which was said to be fully booked. My husband, who is not tall, kept bumping his head on the low ceiling. The kettle was dirty outside, there was a lot of dust under the bed, and vacuuming only reached the main part of the machine; the bed frame exposed a clear space underneath. Only two coffees were available and we were told they were gone because there were no extras on the hall table. It was all very poor for a deluxe room. The bed was uncomfortable, so we used airbeds we had brought from our camping trip.

The location was fantastic, a short walk to shops and the beach, and the Central Short Stay car park was just a little further up the high street. Buying a tourist parking pass for £10 a day lets you use any public car park on the island – good value. We stayed in the top room, essentially the attic in the eaves, had to stoop to move around, and it was very small. The bath was tiny. The room looked clean and the bed linen was clean, but the floor around the bathroom basin was covered in a thick layer of dust and dirt, several inches deep, so deep you could write your name in it. It seemed the floor hadn’t been properly cleaned for months. We tried to find the manager, Brian, during our two‑night stay but he was never around, except in the evenings in the bar where many customers were drinking, so we couldn’t approach him privately. We don’t know how clean the other rooms are or their size, but being stuck in this cramped space with a dirty bathroom floor and no staff access was very disappointing.
