From the moment we landed, everything felt perfect—Nixon greeted us at the car with a grin and a trolley, then brought a wheelchair for my husband, whisked him up to our gorgeous suite, added a second luggage rack, an ice bucket, and told us to ring him if anything came up; he stayed with us until we caught a taxi to the airport. Francesca at reception treated us like royalty, and the next day our waitress at Ilios (name escapes me) was fantastic, recommending the lobster Latke Benedict, which turned out to be amazing. The only hiccup was the Nube Rooftop: at the desk three young ladies asked if we had a reservation, we said no, they told us to sit at the bar, we tried, were denied, went back to the desk, were again told to sit at the bar, and after a third attempt a young lady said, “We’ll put them at…your table” and served us a menu. We ordered two drinks and two appetizers: a “giant shrimp cocktail” with 4 tiny shrimp for $25.00 and oysters—she claimed there were 5 but could add a 6th, and we agreed. Those oysters were the smallest I’ve ever seen. My husband’s special margarita was okay, my drink was awful, but we stayed silent because we felt like we were being treated like trash. The bill was $149.00, far too pricey. I wouldn’t recommend that spot unless you’re young, good looking, scantily or overdressed, and ready to spend hundreds.

The location was solid, but the elevators were painfully slow and the room didn’t have enough water.

The location was very good, the room was good, it faced the sea and the beach service was excellent. The hotel breakfast was pricey and ordinary, the coffee was awful throughout the hotel, and parking cost a whopping $61 a day.

The pool and lobby were great. I stayed 8 nights and for two days the room wasn’t cleaned.
