The hotel’s location is great, close to Kyoto station with free shuttle service, the breakfast matches a 5‑star standard, the wellness area (pool) is pleasant, and we paid for an evening buffet that offered a superb variety of dishes.

The staff handled things well, but my coat got soaked in the rain and when I had it cleaned it returned wrinkled, which was frustrating.

The gym costs a lot for what you actually get, especially if you’re only interested in the gym and not the pool.
