A sweet little hotel, everything you need was available. The staff were very friendly! I can't find anything to complain about.

Hotel Sofia in Matala is situated in a quiet area, yet close to the town centre and its shops, bars, and restaurants. This family-run hotel is 50 metres from the sandy beach and 20 minutes from the famous Red beach. It features air-conditioned rooms with refrigerators, private bathrooms, and balconies or terraces, as well as a large courtyard with seating areas, a la carte breakfast, and a reading corner.

The host was very kind and sunny, the location was great, and they were ready to answer any request within their means. In reality, it wasn't a problem, but the rooms are a bit sterile, if I really have to mention something.

The pension is very well situated on a side street. The reception and service were very good and warm. The room on the 1st floor was spacious with a small balcony. The bed was large and very comfortable (a bit firm mattress). The bathroom, on the other hand, is rather small and functional, but everything was clean and working. Breakfast is also recommended. The day tourists who flood the beach and town during the day are a downside.

The location was amazing. We booked a double bed but upon arrival and payment we were given a bedroom with two single beds, which was a little disappointing. I mentioned it to Roula, but she seemed indifferent, saying we had only booked for one night. We also didn't like the shower at all; they need to remove the shower curtain as it's not hygienic and replace it with a glass shower door. Bathrooms need a renovation.
