The accommodation was clean and tidy, and being close to Australia Zoo was a definite plus. Unfortunately, the main door to the unit we stayed in didn’t lock from the outside; only the screen door locked, so we didn’t feel entirely secure when we left. It did lock from the inside while we were there.

The hotel’s spot was great for the wedding venue we went to, and the garden and surrounding greenery were well kept; the main road was handy when we needed it, and the staff welcomed us warmly at arrival and departure. The downside was that our room was close to the smoking area, so smoke drifted in when the front window was left open.

Helen at reception was very friendly, and the room itself was superb—despite the motel being small, it had a genuine family‑friendly, welcoming vibe, making it ideal for visitors heading to the nearby Australia Zoo; the value for money was good and the staff were accommodating.

The room came with a toaster and microwave, but the shrub outside the first room in the second block on the passenger side of the carpark had been cut back.
