We had an absolutely beautiful stay at Andromeda Camp; the utter silence in the desert is something Europeans rarely experience, especially compared to other camps that are packed tightly together. The entire site, with its large pool, invites relaxation, and our tent’s equipment left no room for complaints. The real highlight was the friendliness and hospitality of the staff, who shared stories that taught us a lot about the place, the surroundings, and life on the edge and in the middle of the desert. I would definitely recommend booking one of the entertaining and interesting excursions, like a dune tour. In dark nights (pay attention to moon phases, it pays off), you can see a breathtaking starry sky with the Milky Way that’s hard to look away from. Nothing—everything was taken care of and we lacked nothing.

If you’re looking to stay close to the desert and can tolerate the noises from nearby camps, this isn’t for you. The best part of this spot is its isolation and the clear sky for stargazing, plus the food is fabulous.

We had an incredible time at Andromeda Camp, where we were treated to a warm welcome from the owner, Hamid. The tent was cozy and comfortable, and the food was top-notch. What really made our stay special, though, was the complete silence of the desert and Hamid's expert knowledge of the geology of the Sahara and the starry sky. Looking through a telescope at Saturn and its rings was a real highlight – it was a truly unforgettable experience.

We weren't sure what to expect when we booked a stay at Andromeda Desert Astro Camp, but we were blown away by the luxury of the accommodations, the delicious local food, and the friendly, well-educated staff.
