Comfort Inn & Suites Amarillo West Near Medical Center

“Clean and safe, but not a great value.”

The facilities were very clean and the breakfast was nice, but there was no elevator in the building and I was on the second floor. When the price is over $100 a night, an elevator is a reasonable expectation. I also didn’t like the bed; the mattress seemed new but lacked support, so it felt like sleeping in a taco. The shower head could have used some maintenance – when you moved it, it would only stay in its lowest position, forcing you to squat right under it.

“Not what we expected”

This Comfort Inn needs some updating: the lobby has low lighting and the chairs and everything else are run down. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but the bathroom door was shredded and ripped up, probably because water leaked out of the shower. The toilet flushed but then kept running. Rugs are kind of dated and everything looks sad. The breakfast room was missing quite a few things but was adequate. There were no flowers or decorations as you walked in, so it looked a little scary and uninviting. We’ve stayed at other Comfort Inns and they were all in much better shape. This particular one needs a little love. Overall, it’s not a welcoming place when you first arrive; people were okay but the whole interior needs help.

It was a quick drive through, but the beds were a little hard and the sheets were stiff, although everything was very clean.
