The spot was convenient, but the rooms were infested with mold, the furniture rusted, paint peeled off the walls, and the bathroom was full of rust; even the elevator and common areas carried a stale, moldy smell.

I woke up to noise from a guy and the TV in the room next door almost all night, and I found hairs in the sheets that weren’t mine—something I only noticed the night before leaving because I’d been too exhausted from my flight and a social engagement to check the sheets on arrival. It’s disappointing that guests have to hunt for such issues.

It was perfect for a weary traveller arriving 1am in the morning from Australia to helpful, smiling night staff. Very thankful of the upgrade and coffees & tea in the room! As one room would have been pretty small, but having adjoining room accessible too as my upgrade was awesome! I could sort my things out and organise properly the next morning. Thankful of the 11am check out too, so I could pop out for Brekky at local cafe!. As I had an adjoining room I could have done with 2 keycards so I could use electricity at same time in both rooms!

The proximity to the port was handy for catching the cruise we had booked. However, the reception staff that morning—an English‑speaking woman who didn’t speak Chinese—was not very friendly and struggled to communicate with us.

The neighborhood was nice, right next to the promenade that runs along the harbor and the standard‑type room was adequate; however, the reception was terrible—I was brushed off despite arriving early, even after emailing to request early check‑in for a fee and getting no reply, and the man who yelled at me should handle emails and understand that after two flights and an eight‑hour time shift I expected a normal welcome.
