Guest House and Hostel VAL-MAR

The room was very cute and relatively spacious, and the location was perfect. They kindly let me use their freezer to store my food, which I really appreciated. Everyone there seemed genuinely willing to help, and they were also very flexible when I needed to change my dates. Overall, I had a very positive stay. This isn’t really a complaint, but there isn’t a clear reception or specific person to contact if you need something. It felt like the restaurant staff were also taking care of the guesthouse. That said, everyone was very kind and always did their best to help whenever I needed anything, so it wasn’t really an issue

The only downside was that there was no kitchen at all – you’re stuck with whatever you can buy outside. Otherwise it was fine.

The staff were super friendly and the room had air conditioning. Being right in the heart of the bazaar was unbeatable, and the beds were comfy. Breakfast was great, but the lockers didn’t have keys, which was a bit annoying.

“L’endroit idéal pour profiter de Gjirokastër et profiter d’un excellent petit déjeuner”

The team was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to give me a breakfast to go when I had to leave early – they were adorable. The on‑site breakfast itself was excellent, a true Albanian experience, and the hotel sits right in the middle of the bazaar. The only thing missing were curtains in front of the beds, but otherwise it was perfect.
