The staff were really cute, and the facilities were relatively clean. It was scorching hot, only fans were available, no AC, and the bed was unstable—when you lean on it, it feels like it could flip over.

The bunk beds were wired; the upper one made the lower one move. The mattresses were soft, the fan noisy, and the mosquito nets had holes. Someone greeted us warmly.

It’s near the airport, a quiet area, and a block away from all the land transport routes to everywhere. Iquitos is large, and the San Juan district where this place sits is also big. The best part is the calm inside and outside. It’s a bit removed from the Nanay port, and Masusa, the other port for trips to many indigenous villages and the Amazon border.

The staff were kind. Everything else was too uncomfortable; I couldn’t sleep at night because of the noise from other guests (couples), machines, and loud music at 2 a.m. The sheets were itchy, and the place had a horrible damp smell. I had to leave early because I couldn’t stand it. I thought it had a good rating on Booking, but it’s not suitable for travelers or people who need to rest for work.
