No.5 Valley Lodge

The hotel sits in a charming rural area close to the entrance of the national park. The food was good, and Olivia at reception was charming, thinking of us and guiding us around the park and more. The heated pool was wonderful, the day the weather was fine and the view was beautiful. The hotel reminds one of an old hippie hotel, which is charming in itself, but everything had become worn out and the place would have needed a lot of maintenance. The floor tiles were uneven and the outside was not very clean. Everything would have been fine if the price had matched it. Given the condition, the price was too high.

Stunning location and facilities with easy access to Zhangjiajie national park west gate. It felt like a little haven and the staff were so friendly and accommodating

The setting was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by mountains and forest with gorgeous views from the heated pool. The accommodations were warm and charming with lots of wood, and our room had everything we needed and more. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Olivia, whose excellent English made everything very easy for us. We also loved our guide, who is a tea master and artist. She guided us through Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, shared her family’s tea farm with us, and gave us a wonderful traditional tea experience. The food at the lodge was also delicious. Beautiful spot. Very relaxing. Hot water takes a very long time to get hot. Somewhat to be expected but good to be aware
