“Lovely staff , room a bit tired.”

Breakfast was lovely and the staff were lovely, but the room felt a little tired and could use a refresh; the curtains were half hanging off and the mattress was very soft, maybe a replacement is needed.

“Very enjoyable”

I booked a three‑night stay after having visited once before and loving the place, so I could finally enjoy the food again. The meals are generous; I’ve had four dinner plates in a row and never had a chance for dessert, but the portions are still satisfying. I also managed to eat a full English breakfast on two mornings, and the third morning’s breakfast was even bigger than expected. Before breakfast on that day I sat outside in the sun and the lady offered me a complimentary cup of tea, which I gladly accepted. The hotel’s proximity to the rail station makes train travel convenient. The only downside was that the bar had no bitters or draught ales, which is a small disappointment but not enough to stop me from returning.

The location next to the station was very handy and the beds were comfortable. However, room 10 lacked soap, toiletries, and a hairdryer.

“Very pleasant stay thanks to the staff and food quality.”

The food was amazing and tasty, and the staff were friendly and very helpful, but the exterior needs a fresh coat of paint, which slightly undermines an otherwise brilliant place.
