“Lovely Spanish cottage with own pool”
The cottage is charming, with a fantastic pool just a few meters from the house, though you have to climb 46 steps to get there. Six lounge beds and a table with chairs sit by the pool, and there are shaded spots during the day; a toilet is also nearby. The house’s decor feels a bit dated, but you won’t spend too much time inside. The patio is great for breakfast, and there’s a big barbecue, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and air conditioning that’s a lifesaver in the heat. Some maintenance is needed—loose door handles, a missing flush button, cupboard handles missing, etc. You can’t flush toilet paper. It’s close to Camenito del Rey (highly recommend booking in advance). It’s one hour from Malaga, and the supermarket is a 35‑minute drive via a winding mountain road. Opposite the road sits a large goat farm; the goats pass by every morning and evening, which my family loved watching. The downside is the huge number of flies, mosquitoes, wasps, and the stable smell when the wind blows that way, plus we saw vultures flying over the pool. Overall, fabulous!
