“I felt safe, comfortable and looked after. Thank you 🙏”
I stayed in Room 10, a tidy double on the top floor that was super quiet and spotless, so I slept like a log. The location is unbeatable in Hampstead – the station is just a three‑minute stroll, transport links are fantastic, and Hampstead itself is right outside the door. La Gaffe isn’t a flashy boutique hotel or a slick corporate chain; it feels more like an old‑fashioned Italian pensione, somewhere between a small hotel and a B&B, and that’s exactly its charm. It’s a bit quirky, a bit hokey‑pokey, fully unique and wonderfully old‑school, having been part of Hampstead for decades. The real reason I’m giving it a perfect 10/10 is the staff – they’re 100/10, genuinely some of the kindest, loveliest, most welcoming people you could meet, making you feel cared for instead of processed. Breakfast is included, served in a lovely room with excellent croissants and, importantly, freshly brewed coffee made individually for each guest – no pot of stewed coffee sitting around. If you’re after glamour and corporate polish, this isn’t for you. If you want a spotlessly clean, peaceful, brilliantly located place full of character and run by truly lovely people, La Gaffe is an absolute find. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Nothing negative.
“A clean and friendly hotel with great location”
We absolutely loved this hotel; it provided everything we needed. It was super clean, with daily housekeeping that even tidied our pyjamas left on the bed. The staff were super friendly. Breakfast was satisfactory, offering eggs, ham, jams, yoghurt, bread, croissants, coffee, tea, and juice, all of very good quality. The metro station and a Tesco are 5 minutes from the hotel, making it easily reachable by public transport from anywhere in London. No negatives.
“Seconda volta per me all' Hotel La Gaffe, ed esserci ritornato e' stato piacevole”
Breakfast varied, both sweet and savory. Good location in an excellent neighbourhood, a few minutes from the Hampstead underground station.
“I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again”
It was a lovely quirky small and friendly hotel; the staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was small but had a comfortable bed and a good‑sized shower room. No negatives.
“A very friendly hotel in a good location at a reasonable price.”
The staff were very friendly, especially Lorenzo, who was kind and helpful. The lady serving breakfast was also helpful, pleasant, and friendly. The hotel is in a very good location, a short uphill walk from Hampstead station, on a bus route that was very useful for getting around and avoiding walking up too many hills. The only thing I didn’t like was the dark brown decor in the bedroom, which I found very oppressive; everything seemed painted in this dark shade, and a lighter colour would have made the room brighter and more pleasant to spend time in. The room was tiny, which we expected, but we had everything we needed.
