The hotel’s location deep in the forest gave us total peace, and the staff were charming while we rode a private boat to reach the property; both dinner and breakfast were excellent, making it a beautiful stop between two cities, though the rooms stayed uncomfortably hot despite the fans.

The lodges are right in the jungle, with a river below for swimming or kayaking. The team is outstanding—friendly at the welcome, great in the kitchen, and especially knowledgeable for jungle treks or mangrove and beach excursions. They’re committed to biodiversity protection, and everything is done in harmony with the ecosystem. The rooms are basic but very clean and spacious, with a jungle terrace.

Thank you so much to the whole team at Rainbow Lodge. What a special experience and a real giggle. The food was absolutely delicious and Gee and Phearom made us feel so welcome, safe and well looked after. A real highlight of our trip for me and my teenage boys. Not service related but brace for the humidity; you need to take closed‑toe shoes to trek around the property and they will get wet, so bring a spare pair.
