The heating/AC unit had a cigarette‑smoke smell when turned on. I’ve stayed here before and didn’t have that issue, so I guess we were unlucky with the room.

If you need to be in the Riverhead area, this is the spot. The room is large with a nice view over the docks, parking is easy, breakfast is wonderful, and the staff are attentive. The only complaint was the air conditioner—it couldn’t regulate the fan, which made it noisy.

The location was practical for moving from one beach to another, and the breakfast that came with the stay was comfortable and very good.
