The beachfront location is excellent, within walking distance to the pier, theatres, and restaurants. A parking permit was provided for the entire stay, and the staff were lovely. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite, which was huge and offered a magnificent sea view. Breakfast was excellent. The furnishings feel a bit tired and in need of updating, but given the current financial climate for the leisure industry, it still offers good value for money.

Lovely building, spacious room with great views. Overall cleanliness poor, a bit tired looking in places. Executive double was very spacious with great views. However we were disappointed with the standard of cleanliness in the room. The bathroom had not been cleaned properly with evidence of somebody else’s body hair still in the bath/shower as well as around skirting boards. There also seemed to be some yellow liquid staining on one of the walls close to the toilet. Staining to the carpet where a radiator had leaked and generally dusty in places. There was a mini fridge on the floor of the room but it wasn’t particularly clean inside or out . The room lacked what I would have expected for an executive room in a 5 star hotel; no bathrobes, limited tea/coffee /hot drink options, no bottled water and small bath towels

The lift was lovely and old fashioned. The breakfast was very cheap food. My room was literally falling apart holes in the walls, shower door hanging off. Lights through the door was awful to sleep. Had a dirty coffee pod left in the coffee machine, not enough milk for a cup of coffee
