Hotel Spa Congreso

The air conditioning barely lowered the temperature by a degree, even though the hotel said it was fine; it also leaked water into the bathtub unless you shut the bathroom off, creating a constant dripping sound all night. The breakfast was disappointing: the cold cuts were cheap, the bacon was reconstituted, the eggs were stomach‑irritating, and the ham, though from a cellar, was the only decent item that day. Only the bread and some cakes were good, while the juices were sugary and the coffee was worthless. The cleaning staff removed mold from the shower after we requested it, but otherwise the food quality was poor. I understand this is a transit hotel for short stays, but that doesn’t excuse the downgrade in quality, especially for a supposed four‑star establishment.

The room was dirty, many things were broken, and the phone line for room service was useless after a long day. The spa was turned off and we had to ask why the staff wasn’t there; the receptionist turned it on very late and it never warmed up enough for proper use. The restaurant menu was a zero, the buffet was tiny, the air conditioner in the room didn’t work, and maintenance never arrived. For the money we paid – a fortune – it was a huge disappointment. The same issues repeated: dirty, broken room, faulty phone line, spa off, late activation, no heating, zero restaurant, tiny buffet, non‑functional AC, no maintenance, overall a huge let‑down for the price.
