“Backgarden camping”
The tent was roomy with fresh bedding, the main bed was cozy and warm, and the fairy lights kept the area well lit around the tents and while walking. The fire pit was great, letting us cook as long as we wanted, and everyone could use it. The shower was fantastic, but with only one, you could end up waiting if others were in it. The field was nice for kids to run around, and chairs were provided if requested. The host was friendly and welcoming. I didn’t like that it felt more like a back garden than a field. There was no proper toilet—just one compost toilet not shown in the photos, which isn’t clear and feels like you shouldn’t pay that price without a proper toilet. The sink is far from the shower, which is annoying. If people don’t wash dishes before the next day, there aren’t enough bowls and spoons for breakfast, which happened to us on the day we left. The barbed wire around the gate was poorly secured, and we were caught a few times, so that needs fixing. The top of the tent looked dirty, which I personally disliked. The children’s bedding kept falling off, so they didn’t sleep well; a sleeping bag would have been better for a camping bed. The fridge was dirty, and even after cleaning it still wasn’t clean, so I had to do it myself. There was a flatbread toaster that was filthy, probably still is, and it should be thrown away. Being on a hill, everything slopes. Glamping should be more than camping and worth the extra cost, but I didn’t feel we received that level of luxury, and there was not even a carpet in the glamping tent or pod.
