“Cosy and authentic. Everything was clean and the staff were really helpful”
The onsen was gorgeous and the rooms felt authentically Japanese; the whole place had a warm, cozy vibe.
“Lovely staff, good location and would stay again.”
The location is superb, just a short walk from the shuttle bus to the ski resorts. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We booked the family room, which was great because it had its own bathroom. The private, bookable onsen was a wonderful way to unwind after a long day on the slopes.
The bed was comfortable, the place is well located, and Ben was incredibly helpful with everything we needed. The onsen after a day of snowboarding was so relaxing. A few floating shelves and an extra set of hooks to hang things in the room would be useful.
“Easy going Bed and Breakfast in the mountains.”
Alpine wind sits southwest of the train station and southeast of Happo One. It’s a small BnB‑style ski lodge, and the rooms are a bit dated; the central staircase right outside most rooms can make it a little noisy when other guests return late. Still, for the price and the mix of guests it felt right. Breakfast matched typical Japanese portions—plenty of protein to power a ski day without overindulging, unlike some other resorts. Other guests mentioned liking it too, and some were returning from last season. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms stayed clean. The private onsen at the back was a surprise I didn’t see on the website. Walking distance to the mountain shuttles lets you pick which slope to hit each day. Noise isn’t fully insulated, but the staff handled it well.
“Great”
The onsen is amazing! Ben was an excellent host. The location is a bit far from the lifts, but there’s a bus stop nearby.
