“If you want to sleep don’t stay here”

The spot’s convenient and cheap, but the night in Rothbury was a nightmare: a loud rock band in the room below us kept playing until 11 pm, then drunk guests shouted and blasted music until 1 am. I wasn’t warned about this before arriving, and the staff only offered a “hope you’re not wanting an early night” comment. There was no breakfast either, even though a chef was advertised.

“Cheap and cheerful . Certainly not 5star but dog friendly and lovely staff”

The village was beautiful and the staff were lovely, but I was told there was no chef and only a continental breakfast—cereal, tea, toast or yogurt.

“Terrible, cancelled our second night.”

The location was central, but the noise was constant with music playing late at night. We were greeted by a disgusting turd in the toilet upon arrival, and the place was generally dirty and in need of modernisation. The beds squeaked, so we had to place mattresses on the floor, and the sofas and carpets were stained everywhere.
