TOURIST LODGE

I usually leave a positive review or none at all, but this place let me down completely: none of the advertised amenities were available, not even toilet paper, even after asking the staff. The bathroom had not been cleaned for a long time, with leftover rubbish and other remnants from previous guests. I arrived late and arranged to settle the bill the next morning, yet the staff kept calling me late at night for payment, ruining my peace. I normally stay in hostels, so I’m not picky, but I expected something a bit nicer and was very disappointed. The overall experience was awful; the website’s depiction was far from reality, and the beds were very uncomfortable.

I had a beautiful stay; the Manager, Manhas, was very helpful, arranging buses and even working hard to find me a tuk‑tuk. My room was lovely, they added an extra blanket which I appreciated, and the restaurant was nearby. I stayed for a week and it was amazing, but my door always stayed open when I went to the university, and the bathroom wasn’t clean, though everything else was perfect.
